Living in a renovation is not easy, especially when you have two kids. You end up having very little time to build, but you have a lot more time to think.

You quickly realize most things aren't designed for children, forcing parents to handle simple tasks for them. This limits children's opportunities to learn essential life skills.

Designing a home centered around children fosters their independence while freeing up more time for us to focus on other tasks.

They are the reason.

My partner and I wanted to raise our children in an environment that allowed them to be free. A life full of experiences that is formed around self-sufficiency, self-reliance and sustainable living. So we moved away from the city to the Swedish countryside.

We found a quaint little house with a big yard, in a quiet cul-de-sac, overlooking a large open field with a forest beyond.

Our dream is to transform an old sommarstuga (summer house) into a modern, functional home where our unique co-design aesthetic can truly come to life, blending tradition with contemporary living.

We aim to create a space that reflects both sustainability and a family-centered lifestyle, while preserving the charm of the original structure and honoring the legacy of the impressive woman who lived here before us.

Her lifetime of care can be seen in the little details—like her beautiful garden, the horseshoe above the front door, and the Spanish hooks in the kitchen—that we intend to cherish and preserve.
